Lawsuit Against Dallas Based National Law Firm
Mr. Shuford represented National Development and Research Corporation and Robert Tang against Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, L.L.P., a 900-man Dallas based national law firm, in a legal malpractice case. Mr. Shuford filed suit against the law firm for failure to timely identify an expert witness and failure to submit a proper charge. The jury returned a verdict for National Development and Research Corporation and judgment was entered for the Plaintiff.
Lawsuit against major Fort Worth law firm
Mr. Shuford represented Dr. Manucher Nazarian, a heart surgeon in Fort Worth, in a legal malpractice case against Cantey & Hanger, the largest and oldest law firm in Fort Worth, Texas. The case involved improper advice given to Dr. Nazarian regarding his ability to dissolve a real estate partnership. After judgment was entered for Dr. Nazarian, the case settled for a confidential amount.
Lawsuit against major California law firm
In this legal malpractice case, Benito Hidalgo was represented by Mr. Shuford in a lawsuit in federal court against Cooley Godward LLP, a 450 man law firm. Mr. Hidalgo was a technician with a heart surgery team. He had formed a company, with others, that developed one of the first stents used in angioplasty. Hidalgo sued Cooley Godward LLP for failing to give him proper advice in connection with the exchange of his stock in a company that acquired the stent patent and termination of his employment agreement. This legal malpractice case settled before trial for a confidential amount.
Emerson Electric Corporation v. Dallas boutique law firm
Mr. Shuford represented Emerson Electric Corporation, a global technology and engineering company, against a Dallas law firm for failure to give proper advice in connection with a transfer of assets with one of its suppliers. Subsequently, the supplier went into bankruptcy, and Emerson sued the law firm for failure to properly prosecute its claim in the bankruptcy proceeding. This legal malpractice case settled before trial for a confidential amount.
Software company v. major Dallas law firm
Mr. Shuford represented a software company against a major Dallas law firm in connection with their failure to properly respond to a motion for summary judgment in federal court in Illinois. The failure to properly prosecute the Illinois litigation resulted in a judgment against the software company. This legal malpractice case was settled for a confidential amount.
Gas Gathering and Transmission Company against Dallas law firm
In a lawsuit filed by a partner/employee of a subsidiary of a gas gathering and transmission company, a Dallas law firm failed to submit a correct jury charge. Mr. Shuford filed suit against the Dallas law firm for failure to submit a proper charge and failure to object to the charge as submitted. The case was tried to a jury verdict and final judgment which was paid by the Dallas law firm.
Lawsuit against Atlanta personal injury law firm
Mr. Shuford sued an Atlanta law firm that specialized in personal injury. In this lawsuit, Mr. Shuford represented the guardians of an individual injured in a four-wheel ATV accident. The personal injury law firm had failed to retain or designate an appropriate expert witness. This legal malpractice suit was settled for a confidential amount.

Mr. Shuford represented an individual against a Fort Worth law firm that failed to provide a proper defense to its client. The lawsuit alleged that the law firm had failed to conduct adequate discovery and properly defend the client in trial in the underlying lawsuit. Mr. Shuford represented a lady against her attorney in this lawsuit alleging that the attorney had a conflict of interest and had failed to give the woman proper advice regarding her heirship rights.
